Terms of Service

The short version

  • Scanamix identifies tracks in DJ mixes. You submit audio via URL or file upload; we process it and return a tracklist. Your audio is deleted immediately after processing — we never store it.
  • You need an account to use the service. You are responsible for the content you submit and must have the right to do so.
  • Free tier gives you 60 minutes of scan time (lifetime). Paid plans offer more minutes on a monthly subscription basis. Subscription minutes reset each billing cycle; top-up minutes never expire.
  • We provide results on a best-efforts basis. Confidence scores are estimates, not guarantees of accuracy. Our maximum liability is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months.
  • These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, Australia.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Scanamix service at scanamix.com (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (the “Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Scanamix is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) tool that identifies individual tracks within DJ mixes and other audio recordings. Users submit audio content by providing a YouTube or SoundCloud URL, or by uploading an MP3, WAV, or FLAC file. Scanamix is operated from Western Australia, Australia.

3. User Accounts

You must create an account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account. Notify us immediately at hello@scanamix.com of any unauthorised use of your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service for automated bulk scanning, reverse engineering, creating multiple accounts to circumvent limits, submitting content that facilitates copyright infringement, or interfering with the Service.

Daily rate limit: All users are subject to a daily limit of 10 scans per day as an abuse protection measure.

5. Content & Third-Party Platforms

5.1 Your Content Warranty

By submitting audio to the Service, you represent and warrant that you have the legal right to submit such content for analysis.

5.2 Transient Audio Processing

All audio submitted to Scanamix is processed transiently. Audio data is analysed and deleted immediately upon job completion. Scanamix does not retain, store, redistribute, or archive any audio content beyond the active processing duration.

5.3 Third-Party Platform Content

When you submit a YouTube or SoundCloud URL, the audio is temporarily downloaded solely for identification analysis and deleted immediately after processing. Scanamix is not responsible for any violation by you of third-party platform terms of service.

5.4 Purpose and Limitations

The Service is designed solely for personal identification of tracks within audio content. It does not enable offline downloading, redistribution, or copying of audio content.

6. Intellectual Property

Scanamix and its licensors retain all rights in and to the Service. You retain ownership of your scan history and exported tracklists. Scanamix claims no ownership over your output data.

7. Subscriptions, Billing & Refunds

7.1 Subscription Plans

Scanamix offers Free, Hobbyist ($3.99/mo), Pro ($6.99/mo), and Studio ($17.99/mo) tiers. Annual billing is available at a 20% discount.

7.2 Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless cancelled before the renewal date.

7.3 Minutes Reset

Subscription minutes reset at the beginning of each billing cycle and do not roll over.

7.4 Top-Up Packs

Top-up packs (Quick $1.99/90min, Standard $3.49/180min, Bulk $6.99/400min) never expire and are consumed after subscription minutes. Maximum 2 top-up purchases per calendar month. Studio tier subscribers are not eligible.

7.5 Refunds

No refunds are provided for consumed minutes or completed scans. If a scan fails due to a Scanamix system error, the minutes consumed will be refunded to your account.

8. Credits & Minutes

Each scan consumes minutes corresponding to the duration of the submitted audio. Free tier: 60 minutes total (lifetime). All tiers subject to 10 scans per day maximum.

9. Service Availability

Scanamix endeavours to maintain the Service on a best-efforts basis but does not guarantee any specific level of uptime or availability.

10. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided “as is” without any warranty. Scanamix's total liability for any claim is limited to the total amount you have paid to Scanamix in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Scanamix from any claims arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

12. Termination

Scanamix reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account if we believe you have violated these Terms. You may delete your account at any time through your account settings.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, Australia.

14. Changes to Terms

We will provide at least 14 days' notice of material changes to registered users via email.
